Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 8, 2026

This policy explains, plainly, what the Duora app and the duoraapp.com website do with your information. It covers the Android app (package com.duora.duora) and this website.

In three lines: when you play on one phone, nothing leaves your device · in distance mode we keep the first name you type for at most 24 hours · we show Google AdMob ads, which use your device advertising ID.

What stays on your device

In same-phone mode nothing leaves your device. Player names, game history and preferences live in the app's local storage and disappear if you uninstall. That mode works in airplane mode.

You can erase everything at any time in Settings → Data → Erase everything on this device.

What we send to our server

This happens only in one phone each mode. To connect the two devices, our server temporarily stores:

DataPurposeRetention
The first name you typedShowing who is who in the matchUp to 24 hours
Room code (5 letters)Connecting the two devicesUp to 24 hours
Identifiers of questions and chosen optionsComputing the scoreUp to 24 hours
IP addressRate limiting and code-guessing protectionUp to 1 hour, in memory

In the third row what travels are codes, not text: the server records that you picked option b of question food.03 without knowing what the question says. If you write your own answer, the text you typed is sent, because the other player needs to read it.

The whole room is deleted automatically 24 hours after creation. We keep no game history on the server, there is no sign-up, we never ask for your email and there are no user accounts.

Advertising

Duora is free and supported by a banner at the bottom of some screens. The banner never appears while you are answering or reviewing answers.

We use Google AdMob. To select and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device advertising ID, approximate ad-interaction data and diagnostic information. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or delete the advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads and opt out of personalised ads there. In Settings → Ad privacy options you can review the choice made in the consent message, where it applies to your region.

Reports

Distance mode has a Report button, for when the other person writes something abusive, threatening or sexual without consent.

When you report, we store in a separate file: the room code, the reason you picked, both players' first names, the match topic and the text written by the reported person. We keep it because the room is deleted after 24 hours and without the text there is nothing to review.

That record is not deleted with the room: we keep it as long as needed to review the case and comply with Google Play policies. You get a reference number on screen. Reporting closes the room for both of you immediately.

United States and California

If you live in the United States, state privacy laws also apply, such as the CCPA/CPRA in California:

This website

duoraapp.com uses no cookies, has no analytics tools or ads, and asks for no data. Like any website, the hosting server may temporarily log visitors' IP address and browser for security and stability. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.

Children

Duora is made for people aged 18+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If you think a child has sent us data, email us below and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under Brazil's LGPD (Law 13,709/2018) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you may request access, correction or deletion of your data:

Step by step on the Data deletion page.

Security

Communication between the app and our server is encrypted (TLS). No action in a room is accepted without a token generated for that player — knowing the code does not grant access to the data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Relevant changes will be announced in the app's Google Play description.
